MASTER OF CEREMONIES (MC)
A Master of Ceremonies (MC), or Emcee, is the pivotal point for any event. They are entrusted with multifaceted responsibilities to ensure the smooth running of events. Overall, the MC is crucial in ensuring that an event is well-organized, engaging, and enjoyable for all participants.
As an emcee, Kumar performs several duties. Eight number of such duties are given below:
1. Welcoming audience: Kumar begins the event by welcoming audience on behalf of the organizer, and providing an overview of the event's agenda.

2. Setting the tone: He sets the overall tone and atmosphere of the event, ensuring it aligns with the event's purpose and audience expectations.
A tribute to Rabindranath Tagore. The event was organized by Noida Bengali Cultural Association. The program started at the crack of the dawn. Singers converged from all over NCR of Delhi.
3. Introducing performers: He introduces speakers, performers (singers, both from Mumbai and Kolkata, dancers and other key participants), providing relevant background information and ensuring smooth transitions between different segments of the function.
This program was well attended by people.
4. Keeping the event on schedule: One of the key responsibilities which Kumar discharges is managing the event's schedule, ensuring it runs on time and that transitions between segments are seamless. In short, he ensures that there is no slack in the continuity.

5. Engaging the audience: The most challenging part of the MC's job is to engage the audience, maintaining their interest and energy throughout the event. This is achieved by Kumar using interactive elements, humor, and addressing audience questions or comments.

6. Providing announcements and updates: Kumar makes necessary announcements, provides updates on changes to the schedule (if any), and conveys important information to attendees from time to time.
Kumar is a popular emcee for the mega Durga Puja celebrations of Noida 62 Sector Durga Puja Committee since 2004. He has hosted several luminaries from Mumbai and Kolkata - Kumar Sanu, Usha Uthup, Vinod Rathore are some of them. He uses tri-language formula - Hindi, Bangla and English to mesmerise the audience.
7. Managing unforeseen issues: In public events, things often don’t happen as expected or scripted and unexpected issues or disruptions arise.

8. Closing the event: Kumar concludes every event by thanking attendees, speakers, musicians, and sponsors, summarizing key points, and providing any final instructions or information, such as details about the next event, or any other scheduled activities.
The 2025 edition of Poush Mela, hosted by Kalibari, Noida, took place on January 11-12, 2025. It was a vibrant celebration of culture, featuring traditional Bengali sweets, music, dance performances, a book fair, and more.
All seasoned Anchors - Indrani, Kumar, Tania and Ananya (L>R), in spite of the chilly weather and unseasonal rain, kept the audience engaged, with the wizardry of their words.
