The session covered multiple facets of International Business. It was a very thought provoking session for the management students.
Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. extended an invitation to conduct a session on February 6, 2025, on the topic "Changing Energy Scenario." This session was part of the Junior Executive Development Program and was attended by approximately 40 officers who had recently been promoted from non-executive to officer cadre. These homegrown talents received insights into various aspects of the oil business to help them develop a holistic understanding of the industry. The participants came from different regions across the country.
The session covered multiple facets of Energy Transition. We traced the evolution of the global energy landscape from the Industrial Revolution in Great Britain to the doorstep of Industry 4.0 in the twenty-first century. The impact of successive energy transitions on global economies, job markets, and daily life was analyzed. We also explored the Energy Triangle, which comprises Energy Security, Energy Affordability, and Climate Concerns.
A key discussion point was the global energy transition investment for 2023, which amounted to $1.77 trillion. China led with a substantial 38% contribution ($676 billion), followed by the U.S. in a distant second place with $303 billion. India ranked among the top ten, investing over $30 billion, alongside Brazil and Japan.
The session also covered policy developments such as the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) proposed by the EU, which is expected to significantly impact carbon-intensive industries like petroleum, steel, and cement etc. Additionally, the upcoming EU framework on Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) was highlighted.
By the end of the session, participants had gained a deeper understanding of India’s role in the global energy transition, the significance of petroleum, and the evolving contribution of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. in this transformation.

The 8th Edition of the Global Refining & Petrochemical Congress was held on June 27-28, 2024, in Delhi. He had the honor of chairing a technical session focused on real-life case studies in the petroleum oil refining industry and the lessons learned. The session was highly successful, featuring active participation from distinguished panelists. The speakers' real-life examples and success stories resonated deeply, prompting thoughtful questions and vibrant discussions.
The audience was thoroughly engaged, as demonstrated by the lively and interactive Q&A session following the presentations. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to esteemed panelists for their invaluable contributions, the event organizers for their meticulous planning, and the enthusiastic audience for their active participation. The session closed on a high note, with rousing applause from the attendees.
The 2nd Edition of the World Gas Summit was held on July 4-5, 2024, at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
The summit was inaugurated by Sanjeev Jain, Executive Director (Gas), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.
Kumar was invited to participate as a panelist in the discussion on “Creating Gas Supply and Distribution Infrastructure in India - From Expansion to Excellence Presentations.” The session was moderated by Deepak Agarwal, Manager at PWC.

A three day (July 24-26, 2024) program on “Functioning of Gas Trading Exchange: “Unlocking Industrial Potential” was conducted at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida Campus. Kumar delivered inaugural speech as Chief Guest at a Management Development Program (MDP).
Kumar was seen lighting the auspicious lamp.

Bharat LNG Summit was organized by PHD Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Delhi on August 7, 2024. Kumar was invited as speaker in the panel discussion session on “Central Role of City Gas Distribution in India's LNG Story". The session was chaired by Rajiv Mathur, Director, Haryana City Gas. Payal Goel, Director, Deloitte was the moderator. Other distinguished panelists were M K Biswas, Executive Director (Risk Management & TQM), GAIL (India) Ltd., Rimali Batra, Partner, DSK Legal and Rajiv Sikka, Former CEO, Indian Oil - Adani Gas Pvt. Ltd.
India Gas-Tech 2024 was held at Hotel Radisson Blu, Dwarka, Delhi (August 29-30, 2024). Kumar was one of the panellists for a session on 'Role of Biogas in a circular economy'. The session was well taken by the audience. Members of audience put across lot of questions. Later, one of them said to him 'You have described the matter in such a lucid way that made the audience listen.'
Two inter-related summits - Pipe Tech and Gas Tech were held concurrently.
It was the first edition of India Gas Tech conference.
Panel Moderator put two questions to him.
1. Kindly elaborate Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable Transportation (SATAT) program by GoI and how it will impact the CBG sector.
2. Your viewpoint on CBG/Biogas from a sustainability perspective and role towards Net Zero by 2070.
His reply to the questions, covered vast areas related to the topic. It included the declaration of Panchamrit by Narendra Modi, Hon'ble Prime Minister at COP 26 at Glasgow, National Biofuel Policy, Linear economy vs Circular economy, Bio-CNG etc.
