ENGINEERS INDIA LTD. (EIL)

Engineers India Limited (EIL), is a Navratna public sector undertaking (PSU), under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India. The term "Navratna," means "nine gems." A Navratna PSU is a designation given by the Government of India to certain state-owned enterprises that have demonstrated strong financial performance, operational efficiency, and strategic significance. It was introduced in 1997 to identify and support these companies, giving them more operational and financial autonomy to enhance their competitive edge. EIL was granted Navratna status in the year 2011. EIL is celebrating its Diamond Jubilee in 2024. This milestone marks 60 years of dedicated service to the nation.

Engineers India Ltd. (EIL) observed its remarkable Golden Jubilee, celebrating 50 years of excellence from 1965 to 2015. To commemorate this milestone, India Post (Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications & IT) issued a commemorative stamp. The First Day Cover was autographed by Sanjay Gupta, who was the Chairman & Managing Director of EIL at the time. He served as C&MD of EIL from 2012 to 2017.

Vartika Shukla assumed the role of Chairman and Managing Director of EIL in 2021. She is the first woman to hold this position at EIL and she has been with the company for 32 years.
