Corporate to Academia:

His passion for teaching is inherent. While serving the oil industry of India, he was regularly extending faculty assistance to the Human Resources Development department of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. and various universities. His first professional lecture was on March 7, 2001, about 'Supply Chain Management of the Petroleum Industry' at the Head Office of the Pipeline Division of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. It was well appreciated by the participating senior officers, with highest feedback score of 97%! 

His gliding from the role of corporate honcho to academic professor was effortless and smooth.

Academic qualifications:

1. Master of Business Administration (MBA) in International Business, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (Under Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India), Delhi, India.

2. Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering, University College of Science and Technology, University of Calcutta, West Bengal, India.

3. Bachelor of Science with Chemistry (Honours) major, Ramakrishna Mission Residential College (Autonomous), University of Calcutta, Narendrapur, West Bengal, India.

4. Course on 'Continuous Improvement of Petroleum Logistics and Distribution - International Best Practice, Key Indicators and Performance Contracts'' at The College of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Oxford, U.K. In group syndicate work, his group occupied second position

5. Certificate  course on 'Supply Chain Principles' authorised by Georgia Institute of Technology, Georgia, Atlanta, USA

6. Though being mentioned at last but certainly not the least, in the year1988, he had undergone 'Intensive course on computers and Management Information System' at Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (now Kolkata). It was the era when desktop computers have just started knocking at the doors of  the Indian corporate world. 

His academic journey began in the early 1960s when he entered Standard II at Christ Church Preparatory School, managed by the Diocese of Patna in Bhagalpur, Bihar. His formal education concluded at the age of 50, when he earned an MBA in International Business from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade in Delhi. Throughout this journey, he faced numerous challenges, both academically and professionally.

After completing his first year of schooling and being promoted to Standard III, his father, an employee of the Eastern Railway, received a transfer order from Bhagalpur to Farakka, West Bengal. With a heavy heart, he bode farewell to his friends and prepared to embark on a new chapter.

Upon arriving in Farakka, he had to take the entrance examination at the only school available there. When the results were posted on the notice board, he was disheartened to find his name missing. Faced with two choices—waiting a year to reapply or returning to his previous school—he opted for the latter. In that moment, he absorbed a vital lesson for life: the importance of resilience and the ability to "bounce back."
